Hypnotherapy is the use of hypnosis as a therapeutic technique. It is approved by the American Medical Association and is known as a very effective, evidence-based solution for stress, habit control, depression, anxiety, addiction, pain management and self-improvement. In Hypnosis we work deeply with the unconscious mind, which is responsible for about 90 percent of all habits, thoughts, and actions. Your subconscious mind is a lot like a database that runs patterns of behavior (independent from the conscious mind) based on your programming from your past. In other words, you’re running on the programming of your system (the subconscious mind) majority of your day. Hypnotherapy accesses and unlocks this powerful part of the mind in order to help you quickly and easily change your old wiring and patterns of behavior.
Hypnotherapy provides an ideal environment for learning new things (re-programming the database). A comparative study published in Psychotherapy Magazine, v7n1 and in Psychotherapy: Theory, Research, and Practice found hypnotherapy to be one of the most effective of all the major therapeutic approaches:
Psychoanalysis: 38% recovery after 600 sessions
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy: 72% recovery after 22 sessions
Hypnotherapy: 93% recovery after 6 sessions
is hypnotherapy safe? what does it feel like?
Majority of people, when they think of Hypnosis think of Stage Hypnosis. It's important to remember that Stage Hypnosis is used simply for entertainment purposes. Unfortunately, stage hypnosis, has undermined the credibility and therefore the therapeutic benefits of clinical hypnosis. Together, we will be utilizing Hypnotherapy in a clinical setting for the purpose of helping you meet your desired state/outcome. It is important to remember that Hypnotherapy is essentially just a receptive state of learning. It's similar to the feeling you get when you're immersed in a good movie, completely engaged with a book, or perhaps listening to a song you really like. All three of these scenarios induce "trance like states" and are not much different from the state of hypnosis. Your conscious mind will be present and aware the entire time.
what is nlp?
NLP stands for Neuro-Linguistic Programming which is a synthesis of cognitive and behavioral philosophies that focuses on the relationship between a person’s mind, their language, and their behavior. NLP explores how a person communicates to the self and with others, and how that communication affects their performance in life. In other words, NLP is how to use the language of the mind to consistently achieve our specific and desired outcomes.
am i the right fit for you?
In traditional therapy, you'll get asked WHY a lot? As a Hypnotherapist/NLP Practitioner I will be asking the questions HOW, WHAT, and WHAT IF? In NLP generally we do not ask WHY because it usually just gives more reasons, and not results; leading us to more content, as opposed to the structure or the process of how you developed that issue. I am interested in your "present" situation and looking to help you create a compelling future. I realize that in order to get the future you want, you have to get rid of past obstacles and during our time together we will clear out a lot of old emotions, fears, traumas, etc. However the past will not be the focus. It will be used as a framework for the present and for creating the future. My focus will be on your actions, outcomes, and processes. It is my true belief that each and every person is perfectly capable of best performance and only has to get in touch with those capabilities. This is a Coach/Client relationship. I am here to align with you and through discussion identify your challenges. Then I will continue to coach you as you move beyond your challenges, inevitably creating "wins" for yourself. This is a partnership of equals. I will offer techniques, while simultaneously encouraging you to find our your own solutions. You show up. I show up. And then we get to work, and over time - watch the magic unfold. It's that simple.
